The Individual Learning Space
The individual learning space differs for each person and therefore it is up to the individual on what makes their space
an effective learning environment.
an effective learning environment.
My Personal Learning Spaces:
1. I like to be in an open area when working on things. Usually people would be around and sometimes the television would be on. Call me crazy, but sometimes being in a noisy area really helps me think. This does cause some distractions though.
2. I also have the study area and a desk in my room when I really need to sit down and concentrate. My door will be closed and this means no one should disturb me. I am less distracted working here as all I have are my resources around me. This space is usually used when a big assignment is due as this causes less distractions.
3. My bed is probably the most comfortable and relaxed place for me to just have the laptop with me and find research and read to develop new ideas.

Difficulty with an individual learning space:
* It can be difficult to stay motivated and on task when you are in your own learning space.
* An individual learning space does not provide the support from other students and teachers to develop and discuss misunderstandings and new knowledge.
* Schools and teachers need to encourage individual learning and create a positive environment for this happen.
